Residential Curbside Bulk Collection

Note: Residents, whose bulk trash pick-up schedule is performed during the fourth (4th) week of the month (4th Monday for example), please note this may not necessarily be the last week of the month since some months contain more than four (4) weeks.

Bulk Collection Guidelines - Avoid Interruption by following these rules:

  • Bulk Trash will be picked up (12) times per year, once per month on your scheduled collection day.
  • Bulk must be a result of normal household activity, and generated by the resident where the bulk is collected.
  • Bulk shall not be placed more than 7-days prior to the properties scheduled collection day. Violators will be subject to Code enforcement measures.
  • Bulk items include household goods such as couches, chairs, mattresses, tables, appliances (white goods – certified refrigerant and freon free), carpet and padding. It also includes unbundled yard waste such as tree trimmings, branches and palm fronds, lumber and fencing no longer than six feet in length or 12 inches in diameter / round.
  • Place all items for collection in a neat and orderly manner within three (3) feet of the street.
  • Do not place bulk items for collection within three (3) feet of a mailbox, fence, utility pole/boxes, storm drains, vehicle, tree, landscape pavers, fire-hydrant, or other damageable property.
  • Bagged leaves or other loose material must be placed in plastic bags and weigh no more than 50 pounds.
  • Mirrors, glass tabletops, dressers with mirrors or glass, shower doors, windowpanes, and plate glass items must be safely placed in a rigid container and taped for safe collection. Unwrapped glass items will not be colleoverloaded trash cartcted as they break easily and present a significant safety hazard.
  • Up to 3 cubic yards of Contractor Generated waste will be collected, provided an active City permit has been issued to the property. Disposal of items produced by a hired contractor, are the home-owners responsibility.

Contractor Generated Waste

Any debris resulting from a Contractor working without a City issue permit will not be collected. Debris generated by a hired contractor should be removed by the contractor working at your home. Please be advised that if the bulk pile becomes a health and safety concern, the City will remove the debris, and pursue a Code Enforcement case against the property to recover all associated costs. Disposal of items produced by a hired contractor, are the homeowner's responsibility.

Unacceptable Bulk Items

  • Tires, roofing material, tile, concrete, bricks, stones, automotive body parts, engines, transmissions, batteries, used oil, paint, insecticides, chemicals, electronics and hazardous waste will not be collected.
  • Do not place items in front of a vacant lot or home, they will not be collected. This is considered illegal dumping and subject to prosecution.
  • For disposal of household appliances containing Freon, gas or other types of Refrigerants (A/C, refrigerators), the compressor unit must be purged of Freon gas by a certified professional. The release of Freon Gas presents an environmental hazard to the atmosphere. Units not certified and documented with a placard on the item as being purged of Freon gas will not be picked up.
  • Residents who missed their allocated bulk pick-up date or would like to schedule a special pickup may do so by contacting Waste Pro at 954-967-4200. Please be advised that a charge will apply.
